The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to working alongside the state governments of the nine Niger Delta states to ensure equal opportunities and fair treatment for all, in line with its existing sharing quota system. This approach emphasizes equality among states and is based on production ratios while fostering unity among the people of the Niger Delta.
During a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, H.E. Sen. Douye Diri @govdouyediri, the NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, stated, “Our board and management have decided to ensure that every state receives an equal opportunity based on the terms of the sharing formula, so every state gets what is due to them.”
He emphasized that as Niger Deltans, we share common challenges, and by coming together, we can effectively address these issues. He encouraged state governments to be open to further partnerships with the agency for the development of the region.
