The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, today, 13 March 2025, held a technical meeting with representatives of OGMA Aeronautica of Portugal at the Headquarters Nigerian Air Force (HQ NAF). The discussions focused on the commercial proposal for the Periodic Depot Maintenance (PDM) of C-130 aircraft, aligning with the CAS’s Command Philosophy and commitment to proactive logistics support and a strong maintenance culture. Emphasizing the importance of direct engagement, Air Marshal Abubakar reiterated the need for in-person discussions to address critical issues and ensure clarity on past modifications and updates to the aircraft.
The OGMA representatives provided a detailed presentation on the evolution of the maintenance proposal and reaffirmed their longstanding partnership with the NAF. The meeting concluded with a productive interactive session where outstanding concerns were addressed, reinforcing both parties’ commitment to efficient aircraft maintenance and operational readiness. Also in attendance were key Branch Chiefs and Directors from HQ NAF, further underscoring the significance of the discussions in enhancing the Nigerian Air Force’s fleet sustainability.
