As the water level continues to rise, combined with the torrential daily rainfall, all the communities along this channel have been flooded, causing displacement of people from their houses and also disruption of socio-economic activities.
It has further created serious challenges as most of the inner roads leading to various streets are not accessible except through canoe. Some of the residents who vacated their homes are taking refuge with friends and loved ones in neighboring communities.
The communities visited include Isheri, Agiliti 2, Agboyi, Ajegunle, Itowolu, Majidun, and Odo-Ogun in Kosofe and Ikorodu LGAs.
NEMA personnel will continue to monitor and provide support in collaboration with state authorities to the affected areas.
