Representing the DG NEMA, Zubaida Umar, Mr. Adebiyi Babatunde Razaq The zonal coordinator south South Zone, commiserated with the victims affected by the incident and expressed that what the federal government has given is a token to alleviate the sufferings of the affected persons in all the affected communities .
Present at the occasion as the first beneficiary was the Honorable member Representing Southern Ijaw Federal constituency, Hon. Rodney Ebikebina Ambaiowe who expressed his joy and appreciated the DG NEMA for her swift action in response to the motion he raised at the floor of the house for succur to be given to the people he is representing in respect of the disaster.
He emphasized that, this is the first time a Federal Agency is responding to their plight in southern ijaw.
He appreciated the Federal government and NEMA and also added that the relief items will be used judiciously and also believe that the joint distribution between NEMA and SEMA officials is a good gesture and testament to a good collaboration between NEMA and SEMA’s.
Also at the occasion are NEMA South South Zone team, SEMA director of relief for southern ijaw, Dr. Simeon Ayaoga, the media, director of federal projects Bayelsa state, Hon. Basil, all heads of communities in affected in southern ijaw and the youth leaders.
