Abuja, Nigeria – The Presidential Initiative for Unlocking the Healthcare Value Chain (PVAC) has signed a pivotal Letter of Intent with Siemens Healthineers (@SiemensHealth) and their Nigerian partner Tanit Medical Engineering to advance healthcare accessibility and capacity in Nigeria. The agreement was signed by Dr. Abdu Mukhtar, National Coordinator of PVAC, on behalf of the Nigerian government, with Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate (@muhammadpate), Minister of Health & Social Welfare, present at the signing.
The partnership aims to promote the assembly of ultrasound systems, enhance medical training for Nigerian professionals, and boost the self-sufficiency of the healthcare system nationally.
Dr. Kevin Massoudi, Vice President and Head of Public Sector Engagement for Siemens Healthineers (Middle East and Africa), emphasized Siemens’ dedication to enhancing diagnostic services in Nigeria and noted the role that Nigeria plays as a champion for health innovation on the continent.
This agreement reflects PVAC’s commitment to reducing import dependency and improving access to medical devices over the coming years.
